Artistic works by Barbara Andress are primarily 3-dimensional welded steel sculptures. Her pieces include stylized female figures
in various gesturing positions to communicate their inner feelings and often a sense of fantasy. Other steel pieces are more abstract
depicting organic forms. Her technique involves the heating and shaping of rods to form armatures which are then fused together, creating
a heavily textured appearing image. Her work often reflects the interrelatedness of art, music, dance and drama, and how they
come together to communicate feelings and ideas.
Barbara's work has appeared on the covers of, and in, various art publications. She has placed and received Best of Show awards
in various juried shows.
